Inje University Cardiovascular Metabolic Disease Center

1. Future medicine opened by multi-omics, AI, and digital twins

Cardiovascular disease is a fatal disease that ranks first in mortality worldwide. However, recently, Inje University Cardiovascular Metabolic Disease Center is innovatively changing the paradigm of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular disease based on cutting-edge convergence technology. At the center of this are three key words: 'multiomics', 'AI analysis', and 'digital twin'.

2. Precision medicine based on multi-omics

The center is leading the 'multi-omics' research that integrates and analyzes various omics data such as genome, transcriptome, proteome, and metabolome. Multi-omics allows for a more precise understanding of the cause and progression of diseases by interpreting individual patient's molecular level information from various angles. This makes it possible to predict the risk of cardiovascular disease, diagnose early, and develop customized treatments.

3. Overcoming limitations with AI analysis

Massive multi-omics data is difficult to interpret in conventional ways, but Inje University's Cardiovascular Metabolic Disease Center is overcoming this problem by introducing an artificial intelligence (AI)-based analysis platform. AI quickly and accurately finds hidden patterns and correlations in data, which helps in clinical decision making practically. In particular, predictive models using machine learning and deep learning technologies greatly increase the accuracy of patient-specific risk assessment and treatment response prediction.

4. Future medicine implemented with digital twins

Another innovation of the center is the 'digital twin' technology. Digital twin is a technology that creates a digital replica of the patient in a virtual space based on the patient's actual biodata, clinical information, and multi-omics data. Through this, medical staff can simulate various treatment scenarios in advance and safely design a patient-tailored treatment strategy. Digital twin is becoming a new standard for cardiovascular disease management.

5. A convergence research hub that opens the future

Inje University Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Center is a hub where experts from various fields such as clinical, basic, data science, and engineering come together to conduct convergence research. The center continuously develops innovative solutions to overcome cardiovascular diseases through collaboration with domestic and international research institutes and industries.

Inje University's Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Center, which has pioneered the introduction of cutting-edge multi-omics, AI, and digital twin technologies,
We are making the future of ‘precision medicine’ and ‘preventive medicine’ a reality.

Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Center

We are leading the innovation in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases based on cutting-edge convergence technologies such as multi-omics, AI analysis, and digital twins. We precisely interpret the molecular information of each patient by integrating and analyzing various omics data such as genomes, transcriptomes, proteomes, and metabolomes, and effectively interpret vast amounts of data through AI-based analysis platforms to increase the accuracy of customized treatment, early diagnosis, and risk prediction. In addition, we can safely design patient-tailored strategies by simulating various treatment scenarios in virtual space with digital twin technology based on actual patient data. Experts from various fields such as clinical, basic, data science, and engineering are gathering to conduct convergence research, and are leading the development of innovative solutions to overcome cardiovascular diseases through cooperation with domestic and foreign research institutes and industries. Inje University Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Center is the center of cardiovascular research that makes the future of precision medicine and preventive medicine a reality.

Multi-omics AI

Multi-omics is an approach to understanding complex biological systems by integrating and analyzing data generated from various biological layers (genome, transcriptome, epigenome, proteome, metabolome, etc.). When combined with artificial intelligence (AI), multi-omics analysis is bringing about revolutionary changes in healthcare, new drug development, and precision medicine.
